Why this exists

Because the interesting parts rarely happen on schedule.

Narratively Inconvenient started with a simple idea: life is messy, people are complicated, and the stories worth telling are usually the ones that did not fit the plan.

This is a home for motherhood and medical plot twists, gaming and creativity, reinvention and ordinary chaos. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, and always allowed to be human.

Amanda

Writer, Storyteller & Creator

Amanda is a writer, gamer, mom, and chronic overcommitter with a habit of turning life’s detours into stories. She writes about motherhood, medical plot twists, reinvention, creativity, gaming, and the beautifully messy parts of life that refuse to follow the plan. When she’s not writing, she’s probably juggling too many projects, chasing a new obsession, or trying to remember why she walked into the room.

I write about the parts of life that get complicated, funny, scary, creative, inconvenient, or all five at once without pretending I have every answer.

A few things I believe

Messy still counts.

A story does not have to be polished, resolved, or inspirational to matter.

Humor belongs here.

Sometimes laughing at the absurdity is not avoidance. It is how we get through Tuesday.

People contain multitudes.

You can be a parent, patient, gamer, creator, beginner, expert, disaster, and work in progress at the same time.

Starting over is still forward.

Changing the plan does not erase the progress that came before it.

One small promise

Honest stories. Clear boundaries.

When I write about medical care, parenting, work, relationships, or anything else personal, I am sharing lived experience; not issuing instructions for somebody else’s life.

If something is sponsored, affiliated, gifted, or otherwise financially connected, I will say so. The goal is connection and useful storytelling, not pretending to be an authority on everything.
